Our greatest joy at The Japanese Paper Place is introducing people the world over to the wonders of fine Japanese paper: washi.

This passion culminated in the 2008 World Washi Summit in Toronto, Canada, with visitors from all over the world participating in a month-long extravaganza of workshops, city-wide exhibitions, and special events all featuring washi. The event was such a success we decided to create an online venue to keep washi enthusiasts informed about ongoing washi-related events. Currently the focus is on the June 2011 "Living With Washi", but stay tuned in the coming months as we grow this site further!
